Dear Parents,

Welcome to 2012!  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. I am letting you know that  I will be out for  awhile. Krista MacFadgen will be taking over and she is doing a great job. She has substituted  for our class in the past and  is familiar with the students.They are happy and refreshed, ready for the new learning.  I have been in to speak with them and told them my husband is sick and I am with him. I hope to be back as soon as  I can be. It is always good to be in the school with my   Eliot River family. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to call .  Thanks for all of your support. Dear Parents,

          Again, so sorry Blog did not happen last week. Students received Report Cards. Please call (368-4270)  if any questions or concerns. Sign pink sheet and return. The following is our week’s work:

1) Read 20 minutes, record (Mon.-Wed.)

2) Science wrap up quiz  Friday. Review sheet given out . Students are to familiarize themselves, not memorize materials. Students will NOT have reading Thursday evening, as WWW and Science tests the next day

3) W.W.W. #8 quiz signed, #9 Friday along with 4 activities started in class

4)Math Review this week on classwork: Patterns

5) Reminder for Anderson House donations: Lunch non-perishable item, personal hygeine item, or school supply item to donate.

  Thanks again. I know this is a lot. I am hoping we are able to wrap up these units and  start  some new topics  in the New Year. Just a note there will be no more homework after Thursday. Have a Merry Christmas!

Dear Parents,

            Welcome back! We  seem to have extras happening as we’ve finished up  our unit in Math and the first two body systems in Science.

    Students will be having a quiz in Science next Tuesday: 
(Digestive and Respiratory Systems). A study guide will be going home tomorrow. They should be familiar with, NOT memorize the information.

  Quiz Wednesday for Place Value in Math ( Large numbers , strategies for estimating, and rounding). We are currently reviewing concepts.

  Working With Words Due for Friday, along with the wrap-up quiz.

Dear Parents,

           Sorry the Blog is late. Once again, students will have a WWW quiz  #6  next Friday, as this is a short week. Words based on digestion and figurative language(onomatopoeia).  Another tables Quiz tomorrow, just to see how students are getting along.  Various writing assignments will come home to finish up what has been started in class. We will be working on diamante poems for Remembrance Day.

Dear Parents,

       Students will have their Working With Words  #5 this Friday (quiz and activities). Reading is nightly for 20 minutes, with Reading Log  signed. We will be having a Math quiz on Place Value and Rounding , along with strategies for rounding  very early (Tuesday) next week. We  are hoping to be finished by then. Math will vary, with a nightly review of the times tables each individual student has to work on. Last week’s quiz will indicate these. One last note: picture retake  money due for November 3.

                  Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. Our schedule has changed a little over the next two weeks , as we have Convention next Thursday and  Friday.
